Good Manners

Our goal is a dog that you are happy to live with and proud to own. We help you open a clear line of communication with your dog so you get the behaviors you want and eliminate the behaviors that you dislike. Our curriculum is designed around the American Kennel Club STAR Puppy and Canine Good Citizen certifications. And our dog-friendly methods are geared to be fun for both you and your dog.

Only adults may train in Good Manners classes. Children are welcome to observe if they can remain seated for one hour.

Good Manners 1 class fee is $140 for six weekly one hour sessions. Upon completing Good Manners 1 we recommend Good Manners 2 and Good Manners 3 classes.

To enroll please scroll through and select from our upcoming classes listed on the left. After clicking on the desired class, the system will take you through a short registration form collecting vital information about your dog (name, breed, age, etc.) Upon completing the registration, you will see the option to either pay on-line with credit/debit card, or to send in a check. If you wish to pay by check your class will be reserved when we receive your payment. No refunds will be made once the class begins.

Due to limited class sizes make-up classes are unavailable for missed classes - but handouts will be provided and we are happy to answer any questions.

K9 Nose Work Classes

Inspired by working detection dogs, K9 Nose Work is the fun search and scenting activity for virtually all dogs and people. This easy-to-learn activity and sport builds confidence and focus in many dogs and provides a safe way to keep dogs fit and healthy through mental and physical exercise.

K9 Nose Work starts with getting your dog excited about using her nose to seek out a favorite toy or treat that's hidden in one of several boxes: the game quickly expands to entire rooms, exterior areas, and vehicles. As your dog grows more confident with his nose, target odors are introduced and competion skills are taught.

The K9 Nose Work class is taught by guest instructor Jeff McMahon, CNWI. Jeff is a certified trainer specializing in the activity and sport of K9 Nose Work. He is an active competitor, NACSW faculty member and trial certifying official.

K9 Nose Work is $150 for six weekly one hour sessions. Class size is restricted to 4 students. Graduates of Good Manners classes will be given priority when filling classes.

  • Out'n About. Takes you and your pup out in public to practice good manners skills in the real world.
